Just a glimpse into today...

K had a fever until late yesterday afternoon, so I kept her out of Mothers Morning Out today. She is not febrile today and looks much better, but since her eyes were still crusty, I figured it was better to keep her home just in case. She & I dropped the boys off at "school" at 9am, then ran a couple of errands. It was nice Mommy/daughter time.

At 10:30, the preschool called and suggested I pick up R as he was acting a little droopy. When I arrived, they insisted P was behaving as if he were fine and encouraged me to leave him. Workers were at our house sanding hardwoods, so I had to find things to do in town with 2 "sick" toddlers until Noon. We went for haircuts and then through the McDonalds drive thru, so we could eat in the car, in the parking lot to avoid taking our germs inside any other public place.
At Noon we picked up P and came home for naps. When they woke up from their naps, both of the boys had the eye goo sealing their eyes shut. Thankfully, it was an afternoon when Annie the Nanny was scheduled to come for a few hours. I actually was finally able to shower and pull myself together when she arrived at 3:15 this afternoon! I ran a couple of quick errands (picking paint and tile for the new house, picking up prescriptions and groceries, and picking up take out for dinner).

Daddy came home a little before 7pm, so we tried to sneak in a quick adult dinner time while the kiddos played in the adjoining room. After inhaling our food, while the trio took turns coming into the kitchen to climb in and out of our laps and enjoy bites of our dinner, we went into the family room to gather them up and found a brand new box of 500 Kleenex scattered all over the room.

As Daddy & Mommy commanded that they clean up the mess, K & R giggled gleefully and informed P he was not allowed to help clean up because he did not make the mess.

When it was time to administer medicine, getting eye drops in six little eyes requireded of chasing each child, then holding them down as they screamed "I NOT SICK A-N-Y-M-O-R-E!!!!" They were finally wrangled into bed at 8 with R crying, K hacking and P singing "I don't like candycorn" from Noggin over and over again...

This, my friends, is a slice of real life from your favorite Pollyanna positive blogger... :-) The truth is, I still wouldn't change much.

This all sounds so familiar in our house of triplets too. I am glad I am not the only one that goes thru these things. I love reading your blog.

I particularly loved the part where Kate and Ryland would not let Parker clean up because he did not make the mess. Hope you all get well soon!
