One of the wonderful things about this age is watching relationships blossom between the children. There is definitely sibling rivalry, squabbling, snatching, wrestling and vying for attention. Yet, I am encouraged by the more positive moments that we have also started to experience. Just this weekend, I have witnessed several interactions between the children that are a clear indication of the special bond they share.
From K feeding P her dessert today at lunch, to the way they keep each other in line by reminding each other of the rules, there is clearly a strict system of checks and balances in place among the trio. When one attempts something dangerous, there are 2 other voices cautioning them...and generally someone runs in to report the incident to me through genuinely worried tears.
They have also adapted the song from Wonder Pets as their little theme. Several times a day, I will find two of them carrying something together and singing, "What's gonna work? Team-work!" Sometimes it is mischief they are working together to achieve--and yet I rejoice at cooperation and the fact that they are already learning the power of community.
I am particularly fascinated by the way they clarify things among themselves and teach each other. Yesterday, for example, we were at our favorite Saturday morning breakfast spot and the children were chatting with Randall, the waiter, about their new little Bibles. He asked what they learned from their Bibles. R looked at him very seriously and said, "God gets me scared." P piped in, "No. God wiff you when you scared, R."
It's better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth. And if one falls down, the other helps, but if there's no one to help, tough! Two in a bed warm each other. Alone, you shiver all night. By yourself you're unprotected. With a friend you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A three-stranded rope isn't easily snapped.

Hey girl, did you know you have two nominations in the Share the Love blog awards? Under the categories of Happiest Blog and Best Humor. Perfectly fitting for you and your cuties!! Just wanted to let you know in case you weren't aware. Congrats!
And THIS post is precious. Something I've noticed in the twin boys I babysit is how when one has something, he wants the other to have it too.... and will go out of his way to find one (like another truck or block or ball). Sweet! And one crying really hard always makes the other one VERY concerned.
Hello from one "Jennifer" to another!!I don't think I have commented here before, but just wanted to let you know that I SO much enjoy reading your sweet blog. Your babies are absolutely adorable, and I can relate to so much of what you write! I have a 3 year old boy (Andrew) and an 18 month old girl (Anna Kate). I LOVE how you dress yours alike.... even though mine are 21 mos. apart, I dress them alike most of the time, too!! In fact, they have some of the same outfits that I have seen on your little ones... TOO funny. You are a wonderful inspiration and "lift" to my day. May God bless you and your sweet family!

That first picture of them makes me want to pick them up and take them home with me. They are adorable!
My boys love the Wonderpets...and listening to the three of them sing "what's gonna work....teamwork" while helping me clean-up or building blocks together...it's definately a highlight to raising triplets!!
I also love the line "this is Seeee-wious!"...hahaha...but the hardest part for my husband is getting the tune out of his head when it's our bedtime.
This is one of the many sweet moments in their life. Bonding, playing together, taking care of each other. It just melts my heart when I sit back and watch mine go through these stages. Glad you are able to capture it and enjoy it.
I think there must be a law against having an over abundance of cute babes!!
Your three are incredibly cute and I love how they are so "there" for each other. My two littles (now 6 and 7) are the same way. Life is right when you can be part of such loving and percocious children.
Your babies are so adorable!!!

Your posts certainly REMIND me to slow down and watch and listen to my 2 and 4 year old daughters. They play together constantly and I find it SO interesting to watch. Your little ones are so precious and I love to hear what they have to say!
Your blog and children are precious!! The comment about the Wonderpets made me smile. My oldest (3) is a BIG fan and we sing that song on a daily basis!! Thanks for sharing your family with us!

Again, you continue to inspire and encourage me. I love your cheerful outlook. I wish we lived closer together! Our six would be so fun to watch playing together! And I would love having you to remind me of the blessings of siblings, even when rivalry is rearing its ugly head! Like today :)
