Keepin' My Eyes on Jesus

When my children were babies I heard friends of mine speak of the pure joy that touches your soul when you hear the Truth of God's Word coming from the mouths of your children. I tried to imagine what it would be like. I looked forward to it greatly...and my anticipation did not let me down. I am moved each time I hear them singing Scripture or praise to God. I love knowing that these songs are tattooing the Truth of God's love in their hearts.

So pardon the terrible video quality, but the children really wanted to make a music video tonight and my real video camera's battery was dead. My only other option was to use my MacBook. I think you will still get the point...

Lord, I pray that as my children walk through life your Holy Spirit will prompt them with these words from their childhood:

"When I have a problem and don't know what to do, I keep my eyes on Jesus. He carries me through. I don't need to worry and I won't be afraid, 'cause Jesus will protect me and help me everyday. When I start to fall, He helps me to stand. I'm keeping me eyes on Jesus and He's keeping me in His Hands." (I'm Keepin' My Eyes on Jesus, Gospel Light VBS, SonRock Kids Camp)

And what great truth for this Mama to cling tightly to as well!

UPDATED TO ADD: We filmed a follow-up video today. The quality is much better as we did it up in the treehouse. They weren't much for the verses, but the chorus and the dancing is an entertaining insight into the personalities around here!

Our church just did SonRock Kids camp last week for our VBS! When the kids got up on the last night and sang the songs, "Keepin My Eyes on Jesus" just about did me in! LOVE it! Your little ones are adorable singing it and doing the motions, too! :)

  15. This is so cute and it melts my heart to hear them sing about Jesus. We did Son Rock Kids Camp at VBS this summer too and my kids like to "rock out" to the music.
Thanks for sharing. I will have to play the video for my kids as they will get a kick out of it.

  16. Music has a way of attaching truth to our hearts. As a child, my mom would put in these tapes (yes, tapes) by Judy Rodgers. They basically are children's catechism made into songs. The words STILL echo in my heart today.

    Your children are precious. :)

  17. We did the same VBS at our church, and my 4-yr-old daughter walks around the house singing the same song. LOVE IT. And hope that the truth in those lyrics will be imprinted on her heart for years to come.
    Thanks for the smile.
    Enjoy your vacation!!
