Disney Memories

We arrived home around 9:30 last night. I took over 400 pictures (thank heavens for digital!), but used the car ride to delete all but 269. Here are a dozen or so that captured the essence of our week. Trying to get 5 people looking at the camera was a bit challenging.Buzz was R's favorite character!

Minnie was K's favorite.

Although her brother runs a very close second. It was hysterical and heartwarming to watch our children's interactions with each other this week. They really do adore each other (most of the time).

This picture (after a long day at the Animal Kingdom) is one of my personal favorites because it really captures the truth of late afternoons at Disney. "My legs are sooo ti-erd fwom all dis walkin'!"

With 3 children we were able to mix up our ride combinations a lot. It was always special to have a few moments alone with one of the children.

At Cinderella's Royal Table...right before the royal fit.
This was the 'official picture.' If only there were sound effects, you would hear R wailing.

K & P's favorite ride, The Barnstormer AKA "BARNYARD!!!"
Daddy & R on the Astro Orbitters.

My favorite 4 people in the world waiting outside the Crystal Palace for dinner with Pooh & Friends.P in the indoor parade with Pooh. He later told me that he kept his tongue out "so I can ba-wance while I am walkin' 'cause sometimes I fall if I don't."
Pluto licking R's head.

And again outside the park.
On the final night of our trip, our friends arrived in Orlando to begin theirs. Together we celebrated M's 5th birthday with dinner and German dancing at Epcot and later the parade at Magic Kingdom.

All in all, it was a week filled with fun family memories...but we are glad to be home!

  1. As you regain feeling in your legs this week and catch up on sleep, I know you'll rehash in your brain over and over again all those magic (and perhaps some not-so-magical) moments of the past week. Disney is just "home" to us when it comes to vacations now. I think it comes from living overseas for 2/3 of our marriage and going to Disney was a way for our family to be in the USA and be "just us", the nuclear family so it became very familiar to us. It is embedded in our family history now as we "pass the torch" onto the next generation.

Glad you made it to and fro safely! We do photo books of the trips now - I get all the jpegs from each of the three "next gen" families and put them with mine. Some editing, giggles and more than a few cropping mistakes later, we have a wonderful remembrance of our vacation - which I then order one for each family.

    Just an idea!

  4. What a fun week! And what great pictures!

K is too cute with that little tiara in her hair. Every little girl should get to wear a tiara at Disney World.

    Welcome back home!

  17. Sigh...looks like everyone had a wonderful time. I think you could sell these pictures to Disney for their promotions. (Only don't ask for money...ask for another trip..when everyone has recovered!)
