Day 10: Self Esteem

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

Lord, in the world that teaches us to "believe in ourselves" I pray that K, R & P will have a healthy confidence and self esteem based on their identity in Christ. May they always know you created each of them with uniques gifts, talents and strengths to do special things. May their self esteem be an overflow of their confidence in You.

This is such a desire of my heart for my kids! That they would find their esteem not in who they are, but in Whose image they were created in. They are immensely valuable, becuase GOD is their Creator, not because my daughters wear a certain size of jeans or because my boys are jocks.

I wish I learned this lesson many years earlier.

BTW, your new Blog design is beautiful. Love it!

  11. I am really enjoying your prayers of the day centered around a virtue. I've seen this before but I must say it is the heart and soul I hear in your prayers themselves for your little ones that move me. Thank you for that vulnerability and openness , God will surely use it in a mighty way.

Blessings to the Scotts, and yes, I love the new blog design as well!

  12. I LOVE your new blog design. And the kids INITIAL SWEATERS! Where did you get them? Also I just got around to reading your anniversary post and loved it. Something about the two year breakup just encouraged me that 1. you are a normal girl with normal problems and 2. things worked out great anyway.

  14. The blog looks beautiful. Matches your personality. I hope you are saying these prayers with Kate, Ryland and Parker each day. Your are incredibly motivating! There are days I read and reread things you say for my own personal encouragement.

  15. You all are such encouragers! Thank you. The truth about these prayers, is that I find myself praying them as earnestly for myself as for my children. I have a long way to go--which is all the more motivation to start praying these virutes for my children early.
P.S. The sweaters were ordered last Fall from justduckyoriginals.com. I have googled initial sweaters before and found lots of options, but they can be PRICEY!!! Just Ducky's were considerably less expensive than some of the others. There are also patterns if any of you sew or love someone who does.
