While we were examining the lions, K realized they were a little too close for comfort and FREAKED out. I picked her up, held her and promised her I would not put her in a dangerous situation. She started shouting, "Get down, R!" over and over through her sobs. She was completely convinced he was in danger. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that they already look out for each other!
After the zoo, we all went out to dinner. 2 Mommies + 5 two year olds = 1 freaked out seating hostess! The children behaved beautifully. After that, we parted ways and headed for home...only to stop halfway home for our cousin's high school football game!!! We only stayed about 10 minutes, but the children were bug eyes over the crowd, the band, the cheerleaders, the game...What an amazing day, but we are all wiped out!
Oh too cute that Kate was wanting Ryland to get down! You are SO brave! I freak out everywhere we go with just ONE.
ReplyDeleteAnd the bathroom...I have just decided that you gotta do what you gotta do. And sometimes it isn't pretty.
I bet they sleep well tonight! (You too!)

Oh, yes, public bathrooms with 4 boys is not a pretty experience either. But what can you do? And how did you like the zoo? I've been wanting to take the boys but unsure of how it would go. Any tips?
ReplyDeleteI could have sworn I posted earlier ... maybe I'm losing my mind. Wouldn't surprise me!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great day. I love the zoo & having a fun-filled day that completely wears our kids out.
Check out my blog. I think you'll get a kick out of the contraption I stumbled across last night. Perfect for public restrooms!!!
What a great day!!!! The bathroom situation resounds for all of us. One kid or many!!!
ReplyDeleteKatie sounds like a wonderful little mother hen! Too cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for meeting us at the zoo and for sharing dinner with us. Davis and Anna Miles LOVE Kate, Ryland and Parker so much (me too!). I just wish we could get together for playdates ALL the time.
ReplyDeleteIt really was so sweet to see how worried Kate was about Ryland and Parker when those lions came close to the glass. Already following in mommy's footsteps---taking care of everyone.
Should you mention the ridiculous quote "are they real"? REAL? How can that come out of someone's mouth. Unbelievable.
Hope to see y'all soon.
Love,
Marianna
One other thing, Jennifer, don't forget to check your email. I sent some pictures and one of them I've decided should be named "Kate's great escape".
ReplyDelete...Marianna
Jen, Thanks for the info. I found that there is a family day the end of the month that we are going to try to make. Hope it proves to be an enjoyable day!
ReplyDeleteHi, JenMom, I wanted to respond to your comment and I don't see an e-mail link here. Would you ming e-mailing me? There's a link on my About page. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHello Jenmom and sweet Babies,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad y'all had such a grand time at the zoo. That is some of the fondest memories with My children. your Kate reminds me of my daughter when Ashley was little, she freaked out at the zoo, and I would always tell her she was safe. I loved this post it brought back memories for me. Thankyou for sharing y'alls life with us. I love clicking on here and seeing those precious sweet faces.
Jennifer, you are so brave!!! It scares me and wears me out to take my 5 year old and 20 month old out by myself. Nevertheless, I do it all the time! However, exciting outings like the zoo are reserved for when GG and Pop Pop are with us! I'm glad ya'll had fun:)
