If Only I'd Had a Video Camera

Every few weeks we take the trio on an outing to a local pet store. They have a terrific time watching the dogs, turtles, fish, mice and birds. They often pet the kittens and the rabbits.

Sunday afternoon we were greeted by a new addition to the store, a large talkative Macaw. When he unexpectedly greeted us with a "HELLO!" the children were a bit bewildered. Then he said "HI!" and they erupted into priceless giggles. They were completely freaked out by this large talking bird. I have no doubt those giggles and their facial expression could have won the grand prize on America's Funniest Videos. Even the store employees were cracking up.

Finally, the macaw said, "MEE-ow!" and K said very seriously, "No me-ow, birdie...Kitty cat. Tweet TWEET!"

  2. That is so cute! I never have my camera handy when I need it either. As if I don't take ENOUGH pictures as it is - the seemingly "best photo opportunities" come about when I am miles from home...

I love that Kate is so wise about the sound that different animals should make!

  6. You'd be rich, rich, if you'd been able to record this--triplets, a pet store, and a confused bird? Priceless:)
